Sunday worship at St. Andrew's is a spirited traditional Lutheran liturgy. We use music from a variety of cultures, in the framework of the historic Eucharistic service as expressed in modern Lutheran resources like our main worship book, Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion weekly. We believe and teach that this blessed sacrament was, in Martin Luther's words,"instituted by Christ himself, it is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, under the bread and wine, given to us Christians to eat and drink." By sharing this meal of our Lord's body and blood, God's baptized children receive forgiveness of sin, life and salvation. All baptized Christians are welcome to commune at St. Andrew's. If you have questions about Holy Communion or about Holy Baptism, please speak with the pastor.
Children are welcome in worship; their sounds are a joyful noise to God! It's OK if kids need to move around too. If they need lots of running space there is room in the narthex. Sunday School takes place during the sermon, and all children are welcome to attend.
Please give us a chance to meet you and join us for refreshments and conversation in Nolte Hall after worship. If you are visiting, please sign the guest book at the end of the service. |
